The bill will now go to the Senate for approval and then to the President for final nod before being implemented.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The bill mandates Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo to encourage blockchain technology use, consult with the President on blockchain policy, and establish an advisory board for annual reports to Congress. The bill will empower secretary to serve as the principal advisor to the US president for \u201d policy pertaining to the deployment, use, application, and competitiveness of blockchain technology or other distributed ledger technology, applications built on blockchain technology or other distributed ledger technology, tokens, and tokenization.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The bill was unanimously passed by the House Committee on Energy and Commerce on December 5, and approved by the Chamber of Digital Commerce and the Blockchain Association.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">However, the bill had opposition from crypto naysayers like Sean Casten, Bill Foster, and Brad Sherman. They were the ones that sponsored the Blockchain Integrity Act which is a bill that seeks to prohibit crypto mixing services for two years.
