The Vienna Stock Exchange, or Wiener B\u00f6rse, has become just the third \u201cofficial regulated market\u201d worldwide to list a Bitcoin (BTC<\/a>) product.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exchange listed<\/a> 21 Shares AG\u2019s Bitcoin and Ethereum (ETH<\/a>) exchange-traded products (ETPs), \u2018ABTC\u2019 and \u2018AETH\u2019, on September 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thomas Rainer, Wiener B\u00f6rse\u2019s head of development, emphasized that the listing allows \u201cexperienced, local investors\u201d to access the benefits that a stock market can offer to crypto traders, including \u201cmonitored, regulated, and transparent trading with real-time information and secure settlement via their regular brokers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

21Shares\u2019 chief executive, Hany Rashwan, highlighted that Wiener B\u00f6rse\u2019s listings mean that the Bitcoin ETPs are now available to all three \u2018DACH\u2019 nations \u2014 Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are happy to share that Bitcoin is now accessible everywhere for both retail as well as institutional investors across the entire DACH region.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

He added: \u201cOutside the DACH region, no other jurisdiction globally provides such comprehensive and ample access to Bitcoin\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In July, 21Shares\u2019 Ethereum and Bitcoin ETPs were also admitted to list on Deutsche Boerse\u2019s XETRA reference market, which hosts more than 90% of German share trades and roughly 30% of European ETF trading. In less than two years of operating, 21Shares has attracted more than $100 million worth of assets under management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In another boost to the institutional adoption of cryptocurrency, Singapore Exchange (SGX) announced<\/a> it would list price indexes for Bitcoin and Ethereum in partnership with U.K.-based crypto data firm CryptoCompare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the indexes do not enable SGX users to trade cryptocurrencies, the price feeds can be used by other Singaporean firms seeking to launch BTC or ETH products a way to track the price fluctuations of the crypto assets in real-time from a trusted source.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
